Time Off

Last night at work it was really difficult with regard to braxton hicks contractions and the pain in my lower back. I am having difficulty walking after about an hour on my feet and some nights I can barely walk. I have been having a great deal of help from my co-workers. They are wonderful. Third shift people are so great. Anyhow, I have been having a lot of these types of contractions so I called the doctors after my physical therapy appointment and they told me to go to the early labor lounge at the hospital...I went and they put me on the monitor showing the small, annoying contractions. Anyhow...I was put out of work right now so that things can go along a little smoother. I am so thrilled. I was really worried about the babies. I guess it is ok that you have these contractions but I was having them about every 15 minutes while at work and when I am standing for any length of time. I have been drinking a ton of water and they are still coming. I am planning on taking it easy at home for a bit and seeing how things go.

The Anatomy Scan...

This set of pictures is a profile of baby B or (Sophie) and baby A or (Riley's) foot. It was so cute. they kept kicking each other and we kept seeing a foot next to a head. They are both laying sideways and opposite. Sophies head is on my right and her feet on my left and Riley is exactly the opposite. They are starting to get cramped for room in there....

This is a face shot ( a little scary!) of Sophie and a picture of her foot next to Rileys head. It was so amazing to watch them. That never gets old! I got a tape and I love to watch it. I should burn it to a DVD so that I dont wreck it! It is so neat to have though. I can watch them all the time now on the TV!!!! How fun!!!!

This set is a photo of Sophie sucking her fingers and her thumb and then a side shot fo both of them. It was so neat. They were moving so much the u/s tech had a hard time getting a heart rate on them. They are both measuring 19w1d which is about a full week ahead of schedule. Never a bad thing in my book. They both weigh in just over a half pound at 9 ounces each. The cords both have all three vessels in them and the measurements such as the brains, lungs and all the arms and legs are all normal. Both spinal cords are closed and looking good. My cervical length is over 4 cm still so that is looking good. No talk of cerclage just yet. Lots of moving around in there......LOTS!!!!

This last set is a profile and face shot of Riley. I dont know these straight on face shots are a little scary if you ask me. I like the profile shots better. They were barely holding still so she could get them. I am glad that she was able to get good pics of them. I will already have like a whole scrap book of u/s photos! Nothing wrong with that!!!! I did have the tech confirm again that they are boy and girl and she said that without a doubt she agrees. So we are looking good there. I will be able to keep all of the things that I have been buying and now I will feel better about buying more stuff! I am soooo excited. I wanted to hold them today it was so neat to see them on the screen. Time is really flying by at this point in the game and I am so happy to see that things are looking good for them.

It'a a BOY and a GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These are two of the many outfits that I bought at Babies R Us yesterday after my u/s. It is so exciting. I want cute outfits for them to wear in the hospital when everyone comes to see them!

I am being a little cliche and all but I love these matching sweaters! I absolutely love them! I am going bonkers about buying all kinds of pink stuff. I have a lot of blue stuff but I need pink pink pink!!!!!

Baby A is the girl and she is face down (posterior) right now and baby B is the boy looking straight up. It was a great appointment.

The appointment went well. Both babies are measuring about a week ahead of schedule in growth. They measured 17W1D and I was 16W 3D yesterday when it was done. I had the good u/s lady and I asked her when she worked. I like her alot. I had my cultures done. Woo Hoo. Big fun there. The doctor I saw this time was really nice though and so far he is my choice for the C-section doc. I asked about photos in the delievery and he said just a couple. That is great because I want to see my babies after they pull them out! I have an appointment with the perinatologist in 2 weeks for my anatomy scan. I of course will have her double check the vital parts!!!! I am measuring 24 weeks. He said that it was normal to measure about 8-10 weeks ahead of schedule. Everything is still looking good. I am so happy about this. Really happy! What a wonderful blessing.

16 week Belly Shot

Well here is the 16 week belly photo. I have been having quite the back pain when I am at work. It has been very hard for me to even stand for very long when I am there. I seem to do fine at home as I can sit when I need to and relax. Things are going along without a hitch. Just like I want them too. The babies are doing well and starting to move a little bit each day. I am still waiting for those big first kicks but for now things are well. I still listen to them with my doppler....just to check on them. They usually run about 158-170 at any given time....I guess whether they are moving or sleeping. I go in again on Tuesday...only 4 more days and I am so hoping that they can see what they are and I really hope that I do not have that horrible tech...I will keep you posted though!

Ultrasound #6.....

Well I had the sucky ultrasound lady...I have had her before and she doesnt take her time with you and she really doesnt try to get good shots of the babies. I have to call the clinic to see if next time I can get the other lady. I do not like the one I had today....Well I am off my soapbox for right now...It was fun to see the babies. They were moving so close to each other and kicking at each other and sticking their butts out! It was so funny. They were both a moving this time. It was too hard for her to see what they are and she said she thought that one might be a girl but I go back in two weeks so we might be able to see more then.

How about this for skul face? Wow! Kind of scary! LOL This baby was moving like nuts as well and would not hold still for anything. I do have a complete placenta previa and I do have some work restrictions as far as weight limits. Things are going OK right now and I have not had any bleeding but it is restriction time for me. I have to make sure that the babies are OK!!! Not much else to report except that both babies weigh about 4 oz each. She did her measurements and they are both growing at the same rate. My cervix length is "over 4cm" she did not give me an exact and I didnt ask because I was so intent on watching them on the screen! I will go back in two weeks for another doc apt. and u/s visit. Looking forward to that!!!!
